Ilmaryn Oakheart is the Hierophant of the Circle of Yuir. Her father Ilthar Oakheart, the previous Hierophant, died in battle in the War of the Fireflies in 1380 DR. In a surprise decision, the elders of the Circle elected his daughter to replace him, despite her young age, citing ancient prophecies about a revolutionary leader who would arise from the Grave of the Fireflies.
Educated in the traditional Yuir fashion, as well as the more cosmopolitan Silverhand Institute of Sciences and Sorcery, Ilmaryn is well-rounded for a druid, more at home in cities such as Velprintalar and Relkath's Foot than in the deep wilds. Her multi-faceted education gives a very thorough and accurate understanding of the Yuir religion, if not one rooted in deep, ingrained faith and tradition. In a sense, she is a model for the modern Yuirwood--caught between an ancient and mostly forgotten world, and a newer, more vibrant, more diverse one.
